SUMMARY OF SURVEY HIGHLIGHTS


HOME AWAY FROM HOME ACADEMY/2003 RESEARCH PROJECT

1) 75% of students who have gone on from Home Away From Home Academy are in the top 10% of their class and 25% are in gifted and talented programs, with one student who skipped an entire grade.

2) 63% of the students have maintained an advanced reading level as a result of early childhood education received from Home Away From Home Academy.

3) 60% of the students have maintained study habits formed while at Home Away From Home Academy.

4) 60% of the students still have some involvement with foreign language based on their experience at Home Away From Home Academy.

5) 88% of the students received a good knowledge of technology, including computer use.

6) 81% of the students continue with musical aspirations, based on their experience at Home Away From Home Academy.

7) 70% of the students continue with theatrical aspirations based on their experiences at Home Away From Home Academy.

8) 89% of the students have maintained an active interest in science based on their experiences at Home Away From Home Academy.

9) 97% of parents stated that their child is very comfortable speaking in his/her classroom and/or in front of groups of people.

10) 99% of the parents stated that their children communicate with other pupils and have more confidence as a result of being at Home Away From Home Academy.

11) 98% recommend a strong early childhood academic foundation for children and felt that the early education their children received from Home Away From Home Academy was superior to that of a traditional day care center.
